May 14th (Wed) - Monthly Meeting:

April 26th (Sat) – Road Cleanup:
Meet at 9am at the 19th street Fire Station for road cleanup from miles 10 to 12 on Pierce Ferry. Please bring a grabber and gloves if you have them.
April 19th (Sat) - Nature Hike:
Join us for a short hike (2 miles or less) to look at plants, flowers and birds. Our resident expert will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Bring binoculars and cameras. Meet at 9am at the 14th street (main) ramada.

April 1st (Tues) - 4x4 Run to Crane Nest Wash:
Meet at 9am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. High clearance needed. A 4 mile RT moderate hike to the Colorado River. Possible big horn sheep sightings. Bring a swimsuit for a dip in the river. Lunch after.
March 29th (Sat) - Potluck & Happy Hour:
Meet at the 14th street ramada starting at 4pm for Happy Hour and dinner. Bring entrees, desserts, sides, drinks and a chair. Call/Text Lori at 831-917-3289 to RSVP & let her know what you are bringing.
March 20th (Thurs) - Spring Equinox Celebration
With the cold weather behind us, it's time to celebrate Spring. Meet at 4pm for a brief ceremony at the Meditation Circle followed by happy hour at the 14th street ramada. Bring drinks and snacks.

March 8th (Sat) - Drive to Nelson Ghost Town:
Visit the historic Nelson Ghost Town in Eldorado Canyon, about 20 miles south of Boulder City. Nelson had one of the most successful gold mining booms in Nevada starting in 1850, also known for being the most lawless. $1 entry fee. (Mine tours available for $20, reservations required). Meet at 9am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. Regular vehicles OK, bring a picnic lunch.
February 23rd (Sun) - Figure 8 Hike & Picnic:
Meet at 10am at the 14th street ramada (main trailhead) for an easy 2.5 mile figure 8 hike on the T&C connecting to the Cholla Loop. Bring a picnic for an outdoor lunch afterwards..
February 12th (Wed) - Monthly Meeting:
Our new board was inaugurated by our new district 4 supervisor, Don Martin, during our potluck dinner in January. We had an awesome 4x4 run to Burro Spring. Our meetings are brief and fun, but we need you there! Bring your ideas for new events and come and hear about our plans for the rest of the year. Meet at DSCC, 15195 Pierce Ferry Rd at 5 pm.
January 11th (Sat), 2025 - 4x4 Run to Burro Spring:
Burro Spring is an interesting geographical area located about 20 miles off Pierce Ferry Rd via Greg's Hideout. There is a easy hike to a spring and the optional more difficult short hike to Lake Mead. Meet at 10am at the 19th street Fire Station to carpool.
January 8th (Wed), 2025 - Potluck (no meeting):
In lieu of our usual meeting, we will be having a potluck, starting earlier at 5pm at the DSCC Hall. Please RSVP to Lori @ 831-917-3289, to let her know what you will be bringing.
Wednesday, Jan 1st (2025) - New Year's Day Hike:
Start the New Year right with a hike into Johnston Canyon in Kingman. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 10am to carpool. Kingman folks, meet us at 10:45am at the Camp Beale Loop parking lot. Hike is an easy scenic 2 mile RT route to a goldfish pond. We will go for lunch after.
Wednesday, Dec 11th – Monthly Meeting:
Last month we elected a new board, and we are looking forward to an awesome 2025! Come and hear about all of the cool activities we have planned and bring your suggestions for new excursions. Meet on Wednesday at the DSCC Hall at 6pm.
Friday, Nov 24th - Black Friday REI OptOutside Hike:
Meet at 10am at the 14th st ramada to hike your choice of 1 and 3 mile hikes. For the 8th year we are joining REI in opting out of shopping and enjoying our great outdoors instead.
Sunday, Nov 17th - Hike Antelope Canyon:
Antelope Canyon is one of the most beautiful spots in Dolan Springs. Meet at 10am at the 14th street (main) ramada to carpool the 1 mile to the trailhead (part of it is too rough for regular vehicles). Hike is an easy cross-country, up and over, 2 mile round trip.
Wednesday, Nov 13th – Monthly Meeting:
We have been busy this fall with the cooler weather. Hikes, a potluck at our trailhead, and road cleanup. Bring your ideas for new events and come and hear about our plans for the rest of the year. Please bring nominations for our new board to be elected in December. Meet at DSCC, 15195 Pierce Ferry Rd at 6pm. There will be a drawing for a free dinner and a free lunch at our local eateries.

Our annual Community Celebration will take place in Mt. Tipton Park from 9am to 3pm. We are sponsoring Community Health Screenings using Public Health's new Mobile Unit. We will be selling raffle tickets, merchandise and handing out info. Stop by our booth.
Saturday, Sept 28th - Public Land's Day Cleanup @ Pine Canyon:
Meet at the Library at 8:30 am to carpool with the BLM to Pine Canyon, a local habitat for Wild Mustangs. We will be removing pipe & other trash from the trail. Meet at 9:30am at the 13th street ramada for trail work (Coming from the center of town, turn right onto 13th street after the school). Got a bit more cleanup to do before Mt. Tipton School National Trails Day (April 25th). Tools will be provided.

March 20th (Wed) – Hike to the South Cove Rapids :
Meet at 9:30am at the 19th street Fire Station to carpool to the Colorado River Rapids at the end of Pierce Ferry by the South Cove. Pretty easy hike, followed by lunch in Meadview.

March 10th (Sunday) – 4x4 run to Bonelli Bay:
We will take Temple Bar Rd to Bonelli Bay. Enter a large canyon with an ancient, fossilized sea bed. Explore caves, rock formations, petroglyphs and awesome views of Lake Mead & the Las Vegas Strip. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 9:30am to carpool. Easy hike, lunch after.
February 24th (Saturday) – Hike Taylor Mountain:
Hike the historic Stage Coach Rd to the Relay Tower at the top of Taylor Mountain, about 4 miles RT, or as far as you want to go. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 10am to carpool. Bring food for a picnic lunch after the hike.
February 14th (Wed), 2024 - Monthly Meeting:

February 3rd (Sat), 2024 - Pine Canyon Hike:
Pine Canyon is a beautiful remote spot just on the edge of Dolan Springs. Come and see Wild Horses in their natural habitat. Meet at 10am at the Chamber of Commerce to carpool. (Part of the journey is too rough for regular vehicles). Hike is relatively easy.
January 17th (Wed), 2024 - Hike the White Cliffs Wagon Trail:
The Historic White Cliffs Wagon Trail in Kingman was used in the late 1800s to bring ore from the Stockton Hill mines to the railroad. Hike is a moderate 2.4 miles with some elevation gain. Meet at 10am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. We will go for lunch afterwards.

Start the new year off with an easy hike to see the petroglyphs at Grapevine Canyon in Bullhead City. After the hike we will take a scenic drive on Christmas Tree Pass into Laughlin. Meet at 10am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. Lunch afterwards.
December 15th (Fri), 2023 - Hike Davis Dam:
Meet at 10am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool to the Davis Dam in Bullhead City/Laughlin. This is an easy flat hike along the Colorada river.

The Wetlands Nature Preserve Trail is an easy 2 mile loop along a river. It is a great spot for bird watching. We will visit the Nature Center first, looking at the many exhibits and learning about the area. Lunch after the hike. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 9am to carpool.
October 21st (Sat), 2023 - BBQ & Happy Hour:

Meet at 9am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool to Lone Mountain in LV. Choice of hike to summit, 1.2 miles (moderate, but steep near the top, amazing view), perimeter hike 2 miles or both. Lunch afterwards.

Meet at 9am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool to Monolith Gardens near Kingman for a choice of hikes, 3 miles to 7 miles. Kingman folks meet at the Coyote Pass trailhead, 1.8 miles N of I-40 on US-93 at 9:45am (Will have to go past it on US-93 and make a u-turn). Trail is easy/moderate. Bikers, this is also a good spot for mountain biking.

Bring your RV, tent or camper van. We will be headed to Kaibab Lake near Williams for a 2 night stay by the lake. Camping will be a bit primitive, bathrooms, but no showers. There will be an optional excursion to the Grand Canyon National Park. Meet at 9:30am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. This will be a blast! Info: Chris 928-767-3469.

Meet 9:30 a.m. at the 19th fire station, we will take Pierce Ferry to Gregg's Hideout Rd , stopping at the Burnt Mill Ranch/stamp mill and proceed to Temple Bar, where we will stop for lunch. This should be a easy run (but 4x4 is always welcome) also c b radios. Remember to bring water & snacks.

July 12th (Wed), 2023 - Hike Mt. Charleston, Las Vegas
Meet at Mt Tipton Park at 8am to carpool and hike Mt. Charleston. We will start at the visitor's center, hike the Big Falls Trail (3 miles RT - moderate) and then drive the 10 miles around the park, heading up to 10,000 feet before going for lunch. Been 5 years since we have been there, don't miss this one!
June 26th (Mon) - Hike the Cholla and T&C:

March 10th (Fri), 2023 - Hike to the Hot Springs:
The hot springs are just south of the Hoover Dam in AZ. Meet at 9:30am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. Hike is mostly flat, about 6 miles, but there will be some uphill areas, so make sure you are in shape for this. Lunch at the Hoover Dam Lodge afterwards.

February 19th (Sun), 2023 - Cross Country Ridgeline Hike:
Join us for a cross country hike to explore creating a new ridgeline bike trail. Meet at the 13th street parking lot, next to the school at 10am. (Coming from the center of town, turn right onto 13th street after the school). We will be hiking 2-3 miles uphill, which will be hilly and uneven, so bring good shoes.
February 15th (Wed), 2023 - Hike the Sue B.:
Meet at 10am at the 14th street (main) ramada for a 2 mile hike on the Sue B. Hike is pretty easy, although there is some rough terrain.
February 8th (Wed), 2023 - Monthly Meeting:
We had a great trip to Red Rock Canyon and a couple of amazing hikes! There will be a drawing for a free weekend stay at the Avi Resort in Laughlin, followed by a slideshow featuring all of our great events over the years. Meet at 6pm at the DSCC Hall (15195 Pierce Ferry Rd). Don't miss out, come and hear about all of the cool stuff we have planned!

January 13th (Fri), 2023 - Hike Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas Meet at 10am:
Meet at Mt Tipton Park at 10am to carpool and hike Red Rock Canyon. We will do the 13 mile scenic drive and stop halfway for an easy/moderate 2-3 mile hike. We will meet for lunch afterwards. Don't miss this one, it will be great!

January 2nd (Mon), 2023 - Hike the White Cliffs Wagon Trail:
(Day changed due to weather). Start the new year off right by hiking the Historic White Cliffs Wagon Trail in Kingman. This trail was used in the late 1800s to bring ore from the Stockton Hill mines to the railroad. Hike is a moderate 2.4 miles with some elevation gain. Meet at 10am at Mt. Tipton Park to carpool. We will go for lunch afterwards.

Meet at 8:30am sharp at Mt.Tipton Park to carpool to the Henderson Bird Sanctuary. Visit educational exhibits before walking the 1 mile trail to observe a variety of wildlife around the water. We will go for lunch afterwards.
October 1st (Sat), 2022 - Public Land's Day Cleanup @ Antelope Canyon:
Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 8am to carpool with the BLM to Antelope Canyon. We will start by removing pipe & other trash from around the jeep trail and then cleaning up, marking and shaping the nature trail. Transport, gloves, water and snacks will be provided. The Wetlands Nature Preserve Trail is an easy 2 mile loop along a river. It is a great spot for bird watching. May 6th (Fri), 2022 - Cross Country Ridgeline Hike:
Join us for a cross country hike to explore creating a new ridgeline bike trail. Meet at the 13th street parking lot, next to the school at 9am. (Coming from the center of town, turn right onto 13th street after the school). We will be hiking 2-3 miles which will be hilly and uneven, so bring good shoes. Help us come up with ideas on where to put a new bike trail.
April 30th (Sat), 2022 - Birding & Wildflowers Walk:
The birds have returned and the flowers are blooming. Meet at the 14th street ramada at 9am for an easy walk to explore the diversity of birds in our area, while checking out the Spring blooms. Bring binoculars and cameras. Our local botanist & birding expert will be on hand to answer questions.

January 1st (Sat), 2022 - Hike the Boulder Dam Railroad Tunnels:
Start the new year off right with a cool historical hike. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 10am to carpool to the Tunnels near Lake Mead. Hike is moderate, about 4 miles RT to the 5th tunnel, but you can turn back before that for a shorter hike. We will have lunch at the famous Coffee Cup in Boulder City afterwards. October 3rd (Sun), 2021 - 4x4 run and hike to Grapevine Springs:
we will meet at the 19th street fire station at 9:00. There anyone who doesn’t have a 4x4 vehicle can ride with someone who does. From there we drive to Meadview, then into Grapevine Wash, park and hike 1/4 mile up Grapevine wash to the springs. On the way back we can eat at The Boathouse for lunch. September 22nd (Wed), 2021 - Lee MacWilliam, Cellebration of Life:
Our friend and trail member, Lee MacWilliam, passed away recently. Lee was a huge part of Dolan Springs and a tireless volunteer at many of our organizations. Lee has a memorial bench at our Meditation Circle and requested some time ago that we hold a memorial service for her there. This was always a sacred spot for Lee. So, at the Fall Equinox on September 22nd, we will get together to honor her memory. Meet at the 14st street ramada at 4pm.

March 2nd (Mon), 2020 - 4x4 Run - Burns Spring Ruins
Nestled in the Black Mountains, this 4x4 run takes you to the top of a hill with a view of the spring. An optional short hike downhill into a canyon will enable you to explore the ruins. Dolan Springs residents meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 9am. Kingman folks meet us at Great American Pizza & Subs (6775 US Highway 68, Golden Valley, AZ) at 10am.
You don't want to miss this event! The going is rough in parts and 4 wheel drive vehicles are required. Please RSVP to Ian at 928-767-3630. Let me know if you have a 4 wheel drive and how many passengers you can take. I need to get a head count to make sure we have enough vehicles for the trip.

Instead of a June meeting, we are having a BBQ for our members. Meet at 5pm at the 14th st ramada. Burgers & chips will be provided. Bring a side dish and drinks.

May 27th (Mon), 2019 - Pine Canyon Hike:
Meet at 8am at the Canyon Cafe for an easy hike in Pine Canyon. Come and see the wild horses.
May 24th (Fri), 2019 - Trail Work & BBQ with Young Marines:
Meet at the 14th street ramada at 8am for some light weeding, followed by a BBQ.

May 4th (Sat), 2019 - Spring Flowers Hike:
Our desert is pretty this time of year. Meet at 9am at the 14th street ramada for an easy 2 mile hike to see all of the spring blooms.
April 11th (Thu), 2019 - Hike the Wetlands in Las Vegas:
The Wetlands Nature Preserve Trail is an easy 2 mile loop along a river. It is a great spot for bird watching. We will visit the Nature Center first, looking at the many exhibits and learning about the area. Lunch after the hike. Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 8am to carpool. Call 767-3630 for more info.

March 28th (Fri), 2010 - Road Cleanup:
Meet at 9:30am at the 19th street Fire Station for read cleanup from miles 10 to 12 on Pierce Ferry. Breakfast provided for volunteers.

Meet at 6pm at the Chamber of Commerce for our monthly meeting.
February 23rd (Sat), 2019 - Community Trail Project:
Meet at 10am at the Chamber of Commerce to revitalize the trail from the school to the Chamber of Commerce. We need ATVs with drags or tractors and volunteers to smooth out the trail. Chamber will be providing the main course (BBQ) for lunch, but please bring some side dishes. RSVP to Sue at 716-3362.
February 17th (Sun), 2019 - 4x4 Run to Grapevine Canyon & Christmas Tree Pass:
Meet at 9am at Mt. Tipton Park for a 4x4 run to Grapevine Canyon & Christmas Tree Pass near Nevada. There will be a short hike to see the Petroglyphs. RSVP to Sue B and let her know if you have a 4x4 and how many people you can take.
February 15th (Fri), 2019 - Hike Pine Canyon:
Meet at 10am at the Canyon Cafe for an easy hike in Pine Canyon. We will carpool, since you need a high clearance vehicle to get there.
February 13th (Wed), 2019 - Monthly Meeting & Guest Speaker:
The year is young and we have already been on some amazing hikes! Our new board was just inaugurated and we have some great plans for the rest of the year. Our guest speaker is Tami Ursenbach, the new Economic Development Director for Mohave County, who will talk about how to boost tourism in Dolan Springs. Meet at the Chamber of Commerce at 6pm. Please bring your questions for Tami and ideas for hikes, 4x4 runs and social activities.
January 25th (Fri) 2019 - Hike Laughlin to Davis Dam:
The trail to Davis Camp is about 3 miles round trip on the west side of the Colorado River. This is an easy, fun hike with great views of the water. We will go for lunch afterwards. (February 1st is the alternate weather date). Meet at the Mt. Tipton Park at 10am to carpool. Call 716-3362 for more info.
January 11th (Fri) 2019 - Hike Grand Wash Canyon in Meadview:
Only the locals seem to know about this hike in Meadview! This wash goes all the way to the lake but we will turn around when we get tired. The cliffs surrounding the wash and the variation in plant life make for an interesting hike. Meet at the 19th Street Fire Station at 10am to carpool. Lunch in Meadview afterwards. Meet at the 19th St Fire Station to carpool to Meadview. Can hike as far as you want and then turn back, goes all the way, about 5 miles, to the lake. Hike is relatively flat We will have lunch in Meadview afterwards.
October 19th (Fri), 2018 - Hike the Boulder Dam Railroad Tunnels:
Meet at Mt. Tipton Park at 8am to carpool to the Tunnels near Lake Mead. Hike is moderate, about 4 miles RT to the 5th tunnel, but you can turn back before that for a shorter hike. We will have lunch in Boulder afterwards. Click here for more info: Don't miss this part of American History.
